Q: What is the name of your mascot?

A: Snappy the Snail.

Q: How does SnappySnail work?

A: SnappySnail helps you to write a fast letter using AI (artificial intelligence). You tell us who to send the letter to.  We then print the letter, fold it, stuff it in an envelope, put a stamp on it, and put it in the mail.

Q: Is it true that using SnappySnail is just $4?

A: Yes, that pricing including the paper, printing, folding, stuffing the envelope, a first-class stamp, and posting it in the mail.

Q: What kind of paper is the letter printed on?

A: We print your letter on 8.5” x 11” white stationery with simple, classic style black ink.  The paper is 32 lb. which feels much thicker to the touch.

Q: What type of envelope is used?

A: The letter is sent in a white #10 envelope, which measures 4 1/8″ x 9 1/2″ and is often considered to be the “classic” U.S. envelope size.

Q: What type of postage is used?

A: We use a U.S. flag ®Forever stamp issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS). The current price of a first-class Forever stamp is $0.68.  It has a picture of the flag with the words “FREEDOM FOREVER / USA” below. The flag serves as a visual reminder of the array of freedoms that Americans enjoy. Its design dates to 1777 when the Continental Congress specified 13 horizontal stripes and 13 stars to honor the 13 original colonies. Various version of the early flag continued to be used until, in 1818, the U.S. Congress standardized the design, mandating 13 stripes forever but a star for every state.  Another act of Congress, in 1947, set the date for each new star's official addition to the flag as the July 4 following the state's admission to the Union. The last time the flag changed was July 4, 1960, after Hawaii achieved statehood the previous August.

Q: Do you send letters outside of the United States?

A: No.

Q: Why do you employ retired people?

A: The founders wanted to create a business that could provide purpose and economic opportunity to retired (but not tired) folks. The business provides them a way to stay engaged, have a place of meaning, collaborate with others, and help pay for some of their living costs.  We thoroughly enjoy the operational contribution the retired community makes to SnappySnail.  They are what makes the business possible, and in turn the business provides a source of income that might otherwise be hard for them to earn.

Q: Where is my letter postmarked from?

A: Your letter originates from the Queen Anne Post Office located in Seattle, Washington.

Q: Will my letter be postmarked today?

A: In most cases your letter will be postmarked same day if it was received prior to 4pm Pacific Time. Otherwise, it will be postmarked on the following day.  The primary factor determining the postmark date is the total volume of letter orders received and our ability to process the letter before postmark cutoff times.  We are located adjacent to the Queen Anne Station post office, so mailbag drop-offs are usually seamless.  Also, please keep in mind that the U.S. Postal System (USPS) closes early on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays and Federal holidays.  In any case where we are unable to get the letter postmarked same-day, we will make every reasonable attempt to see that it is postmarked on the next day that the USPS Queen Anne Station post office is open.

Q: How long does it take for my letter to be delivered?

A: Delivery times vary depending on the speed of the U.S. Postal System (USPS) as well as the location of the recipient. Additional factors can include seasonal mailing surges, weather events or unexpected disruptions. Typically is will take at least 1-2 days, and as long as 5-7 days.  Most letters are received by the recipient in 2-5 days.

Q: What does the letter look like?

A: The color of the envelope your letter is sent in is called Sunflower Yellow, which is also the color of yellow used by Snappy Snail.  On the outside of the envelope is your address (sender) as well as the address of the person you are sending the letter to (recipient).  We DO NOT lick the envelope.  A gum seal is used on the flap to create a secure closed seal of the envelope.  Over the seal flap on the back of the envelope we hand-imprint the Snappy Snail using a black ink.
